New Year, New ACTION!

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."  Albert Einstein

The first point to note is that action, rather than inaction, is needed. You know what I mean, don't you! Rather than procrastinating, take that first step right now - get on with it!

And as Einstein indicated, you can't reasonably expect different results if you keep on taking the same old, luke-warm, half-hearted, half-baked 'action' that you've taken (or just thought about taking) in previous years. So try something different! The difference might sometimes mean doing something radically different. But in many cases, just by taking a little more trouble or effort, or by paying attention to the details, or by being more consistent, or more honest with ourselves, we can make all the difference.

To find the difference that makes the difference, stimulate your creativity by using Kipling's "six honest serving men".

What resources will you need to get the job done? In order to get a different result, you might use different resources than you have previously tried.

Bear in mind that, quite often (but not always), we have to give up something in order to gain something else.

Sometimes we can apparently "turn on a sixpence" - at other times, we have to remember that people, things and situations all have inertia. Making a small change in course now can have a big effect later.

Have a prosperous New Year 2009 by taking the right action - and have fun doing it! :-)
